Playing with some different 3d models, to bring to life an idea I’ve had for a while.
Working individually, we had to produce an animation that presents information and communicates an argument or position in relation to a self-initiated research topic. I chose Social Media and the concept that their value derives from nothing that they intrinsically make, it is the interactions of the users that equate to a high dollar value for the companies. I chose to ask what all of the time would be worth to the collective users, even at the lowest legal salary in Australia. Just to show the disparity, and show that the users are kind of like slaves for uncaring masters that profit from their lives, like soulless vampires.
This was done for a concept of an app for a class. I created the app prototype that is running on the phone screen in Adobe Xd and Sketch. The iPhone 6 is a 3d model in Maya, rendered out with Pixar’s Renderman. The entire composition was animated by myself in Adobe After Effects CC2015.
Just a collection of some of my 3D work at Billy Blue
I’m working on an e-zine for a client, here’s the mock-up cover
Today was sorting the detail on the face and getting skin tone where I wanted it to be. next will be adding further levels of detail to the body and maybe the hair (it’s making me nervous!).
