A Cool Job For A Comic Con Display

I got a chance to use some 3D models of Star Wars spaceships in point of sale material for a stall at Comic Con in Sydney this year:

The assets in the posters and banners were the 3D models of the X-wing, Millennium Falcon & Tie fighters, Planets and star fields made in Adobe Photoshop from scratch. and text, with all the assets put together in InDesign for output to PDF.

Tons of fun to do, and a quick job to turn around for my client.

A little bit of Digital Slavery…

Working individually, we had to produce an animation that presents information and communicates an argument or position in relation to a self-initiated research topic. I chose Social Media and the concept that their value derives from nothing that they intrinsically make, it is the interactions of the users that equate to a high dollar value for the companies. I chose to ask what all of the time would be worth to the collective users, even at the lowest legal salary in Australia. Just to show the disparity, and show that the users are kind of like slaves for uncaring masters that profit from their lives, like soulless vampires.
